Detective's Log

I could tell she knew what she wanted.  She had a look in her eyes that I'd seen before.  I'd been down this street with other clients.  They all wanted the same thing. This one was no different.  Her perfume filled my head as she leaned over my desk. "Here it comes,"  I thought, and I was right.  My heart was pounding as fast as the second hand on my wristwatch as she whispered "storage space."

Buyers' Process

I refer you to credible, competitive mortgage agents familiar with our market, for pre-approval of your financing.    When you are pre-approved we meet for an initial discussion of your requirements and preferences.  I'll give you a Buyers' Handbook and go over it with you in as much detail as you wish. Next, we tour a few homes together to round out our talk with some examples.

Unless we get lucky that first day, we settle into the hunt.  Searching for your house I use the best of new and not-new technologies and techniques to provide you the quickest word of new opportunities. Time can crucial in the process, with contracts often made very quickly after a property's market appearance.  I focus on securing the longest time possible for you to decide on whether and what you might offer, for a property you could love to live with.

When you have a good notion of your price and terms, we meet to prepare the formal purchase proposal.  You bring along your checkbook for the good faith deposit.  I present your offer, when possible to the Seller in person. I am a well-practiced expert in the negotiating process that produces success.

Throughout your purchase I refer home inspectors, title and other experts, and attend at inspections and document signoffs. I remain available for questions and further referrals, forever, at no additional charge.

Self Help

You can always increase the odds for yourself, if you have the time and take the initiative.  This is not a spectator sport.  Take as big and active a part as you can manage.  Research the areas .   Read the materials I send, and, time permitting, drive by the addresses that seem possibilities, drop in at brokers' and public open houses, scan the Sunday papers and internet for new offerings.

I need to hear from you.  Call me back.  Acknowledge all my messages, tell me what you like and don't, ask me everything.  There aren't any silly questions.

Bring your enthusiasm, excitement and energy to finding a property.  Give it the priority it warrants, and the results will be to your liking.
